PEACE AS INHERITANCE FOR BELIEVERS

Today also, we are going to continue with the Believer's Inheritance Topic.
In Defining of Inheritance, I said the 3rd Defination was as follows,

Inheritance:-   An estate given or possessed by donation or divine appropriation.

Today I'm going to focus specifically on " Peace as Inheritance for Believers.

Lets consider Galatians 3:13-14 again

Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),
14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Jesus restored the blueprint of God’s original plan for man to also have peace.

Peace is something everyone wants, yet few seem to find. What is peace?
Peace is a desired status between God with men, relationships between people or Nations.

The English Dictionary defines Peace as
1. Freedom from disturbance; tranquillity.
2. A state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended.
3. Freedom from being disturbed or bothered by people, noise, etc.
4. Harmony in personal relations

The Hebrew word we translate as peace is “shalom.”
The way “shalom” is used does not mean to feel calm nor the absence of conflict.
Instead shalom, peace, is the result of right relationships with God, one another, and with creation.

In the New Testament, the primary Greek word for “peace” is eirene, and it refers to rest and tranquility.

Isaiah had predicted the Messiah would be the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6),
and He is called the Lord of peace in 2 Thessalonians 3:16.

It is through Christ’s work of justification that we can have peace with God (Romans 5:1),
and that peace will keep our hearts and minds secure (Philippians 4:7).

God commands us to seek peace (Psalm 34:14; Matthew 5:9).
We should “make every effort to do what leads to peace” (Romans 14:19).
Of course, there will be some people who do not desire peace,
but we are still to do our utmost to be at peace with them (Romans 12:18).

Believers have an obligation to “let the peace of God rule” in their hearts (Colossians 3:15).
This means we have the choice either to trust God’s promises (letting His peace rule) or to rely on ourselves and reject the peace He offers.

Peace is a fruit of the Spirit, so, if we are allowing the Spirit of God to rule in our lives, we will experience His peace.
Once His peace rules in our hearts, we are able to share that peace with others; we become publishers of peace.

The concept of peace is wholeness in all of life.

Shalom is often tied to a covenant or a promise kept.
As a  believer, you have the right to live in peace every single day, and the Bible tells us why.

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

This verse reveals that God’s redemptive plan is both complete and perfect—covering every area of your life.

The phrase “the chastisement of our peace was upon him” in verse 5 means that Jesus Christ suffered the punishment (the penalty) for our sins so we could experience forgiveness and peace.

The Hebrew word for “chastise” is musar.
It may be corporal or verbal; it may be instruction, discipline, rebuke or punishment.
A chastisement by words indicates that the purpose is to instruct, but what Isaiah speaks of is a chastisement of wounds, of bruises, of stripes, and the purpose is for peace.

The qualification for our Shalom was upon Him.

The Hebrew word shalom for “peace” is much more than the absence of conflict or the ceasing of hostilities.
It is wholeness, what was once missing now restored, what was once broken now healed.
The word shalom encompasses health, security, good conditions, success, comfort, safety, happiness, wellness, wholeness, and soundness.

It reassures us that everything is all right, it gives a sense of well-being, and removes all concern.
It tells us we will come out of any circumstance unharmed.
It is a picture of a harmonious state of soul and mind and speaks of fulfillment, satisfaction, and contentment.

There is quite a lot in this one little word shalom!

To wish someone shalom implies that you are speaking a blessing over them.
It is a word that depicts wholeness in your spirit, soul and body as well as in your relationships, finances, happiness, and so on.

Peace, or shalom, pretty much covers everything. And it is available in Jesus' Redemption.

Whatever has been lost, Jesus can fill the void.
He will make it up to you.
Whatever was broken, He can mend and make it better than new.

Jesus brings us wholeness, shalom, nothing missing, nothing broken.

The Bible says that Christ is our Peace

Ephesians 2:14 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
14 For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony). He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us,

Jesus Christ is our peace, our Shalom, and this shalom, wholeness, nothing missing, nothing broken is part of your inheritance as a believer. Claim it! Its available!

You are qualified for peace. Since its yours, you have to claim it and work at maintaining it.

Isaiah 26:3 NKJVYou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

God has given us a promise, but we must meet His condition.
In this verse, the promise is: He will keep you in perfect peace.

The condition is: IF your mind is stayed on Him. The mind plays a vital part in you walking in perfect peace no matter your circumstances.
This is the power of God’s Word working in a faith-filled heart and a renewed mind.

As you renew your mind to God’s Word and fill your heart with faith, you will begin to approach every situation in your life without worry or fear.
Your mind can not be full of negative voices, worry, or fear when you keep your mind on God.

It is a choice you have to make, regardless of your feelings.
Put God first place in all you do and think, and you will walk in perfect peace.

Our heavenly Father wants us to take our full inheritance—His marvelous provision that was paid for through the blood of Jesus.

Jesus offers us this same peace He demonstrated throughout His life.

In John 14:27 (AMP) Jesus says, Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.

The peace/shalom from Jesus is wholeness in your spirit, soul and body as well as in your relationships, finances, happiness etc.

Did you know you can have peace all around you?
Just read this verses and see how possible it is with God.

Joshua 21:44 International Standard Version
The Lord gave them peace all around them, just as he had promised their ancestors. Not one of their enemies was able to oppose them—the Lord placed all of their enemies under their control.
45 Not one of the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed—all of them came about.

We see that Solomon also testified of peace all around him.

1 Kings 5:4 But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence.

As you mix this word with faith, I believe you are the next one to testify!

Receive peace as a believer in every area of your life and may the effects of your redemption be manifested in your life as God's Word Confirms!

Isaiah 32:17  Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
And the effect of righteousness will be peace [internal and external], and the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever.

As you see, the presence of peace indicates God’s blessing on man’s obedience.

Jesus took the chastisement of our peace and has made it possible for us to have peace with God.

Now here is our confession!

Hebrews 4:2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

In light of God's Word, I mix my faith with the Word and I declare this out loud:

“Father, today I receive my FULL inheritance. I receive by faith shalom, wholeness in my spirit, soul and body as well as in my relationships, finances, happiness that rightfully belongs to me through Jesus’ sacrifice.

I receive my FULL inheritance based upon my being an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus. I claim it ALL.”
Amen! Pst. Maxwell Aruwa
